Damajagua Falls – A beautiful park, knowledgeable tour guides and relaxing

Veterans, even though I am a little off track (bouncing around), I must tell you about Damajagua Falls in the lovely Dominican Republic. The Damajagua Waterfalls, also
referred to as the “27 Charcos” or “27 Waterfalls,” are a remarkable natural wonder situated in the province of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Every year, thousands of tourists flock to this breathtaking collection of waterfalls and natural pools, drawn by their unique and exhilarating natural experience.

I went to this amazing park with my wife in January, and my fellow veterans, I must declare—that we had a great time. My post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) appeared to be under control (e.g., I was more focused on enjoyment), and the adventure was calming. I put my mind in a relaxing place, and we enjoyed the adventure.

At seven o’clock in the morning, we disembarked from the Carnival cruise ship Celebration and arrived at Amber Cove to meet our tour guide. As soon as we could, we boarded an open-air bus and set out on our journey to reach our destination, which was Damagua Falls. The journey to our destination was one of a kind, and the countryside that we traveled through (off the road) was breathtaking. On the other hand, we quickly learned that laws about transportation are not strictly enforced and that driving safely is a challenging endeavor.

Once we arrived, the team was polite and helpful. Our guide spoke excellent English, and he was courteous. In addition, the event (ziplining, swimming, and four-wheeling) was well organized, and the protected park was stunning. Head to the first waterfall along the nature trail, where you will see hundreds of species of tropical plants and birds.

Any veteran who is going through some difficult times and is looking for the enjoyment of this adventure should have this location on their list of places to visit. There are many deals worth researching and finding one that fits your budget.
